A great miracle by Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba saved the life of Mr A P N Sharma and the result was the 2nd project Sai Arogyadham at Belthur, P.O Kadugodi, Bengaluru-560067, near Sathya Sai Baba Ashram, Brindavan. Here, a section of poor patients visiting Sri Sathya Sai Super Speciality Hospital, Whitefield and also various other hospitals in Bengaluru are allowed to stay free of cost. Two free meals per day are also given to average 70-100 patients and their attendants so as to mitigate their financial burden to some extent.
Established in the year 2000, so far over 5 lakh patients and their attendants have been benefited. Patients of all caste and creed from all over India have taken advantage of this service. Free treatment/operation to some poorest of the poor patients is also provided. Small children aged below 10 years are picked up whose heart ailment is considered to be hopeless and the cost would run into several lacs of rupees. So far 10 cases have been taken up and all are successful by His Grace. These operations are performed by dedicated surgeons at Narayana Hrudayalaya at subsidised cost.
